A soldier from the Assam Rifles lost his life during an armed assault on a paramilitary vehicle in Bishnupur, Manipur. This incident occurred around 6 PM on Friday in the Nambol Sabal Leikai area of the district. According to reports, a group of gunmen ambushed the vehicle that was transporting Assam Rifles personnel from Imphal to Bishnupur district. One soldier was killed in the attack, while three others sustained injuries. The Assam Rifles personnel were traveling in a Tata 407 vehicle when the ambush took place in the Nambol police station jurisdiction.
Following the attack, local residents and police officers rushed the injured soldiers to a nearby hospital for treatment. Security forces have arrived at the scene and have cordoned off the area to conduct further investigations.
